Eastern European Sarcomas Studies Group works successfully at the territory of the former Soviet Union already for one year. The group was founded at the biggest oncology center of Russia, Oncology Center named after Blokhin at the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMN). Blokhin center group comprises the leading experts in sarcoma treatment from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Georgia, Takzhikistan, Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the creation of the group was to conduct researches, to develop general standards of care, to run scientific and education programs and to register the patients with sarcomas.
Every year around 1000 patients get treatment against sarcoma.
The group publishes a magazine Sarcomas of bones, soft tissues and skin tumors.
